Concurrent/Dual Enrollment

Half Moon Bay High School students have an opportunity to earn college credit while they are still in high school. Concurrent Enrollment
Concurrent enrollment allows high school students (grades 9 and above) to take college-level courses at a community college, either in person or online, tuition-free. These courses are taught by community college instructors and allow students to establish a college transcript while they are still in high school. Concurrent enrollment courses are intended for enrichment or academic advancement only, and do not replace high school graduation requirements. Concurrent enrollment courses will only appear on the student’s college transcript, not the HMBHS transcript, with a few exceptions. Please see page 12 of the HMBHS student planning guide for more information and requirements.

Dual Enrollment
Students have the opportunity to take dual enrollment courses offered at HMBHS in partnership with either the College of San Mateo, Skyline College, or Cañada College. Some dual enrollment courses offered on the HMBHS campus are taught by HMBHS teachers, and some are taught by community college instructors. Dual enrollment courses are identified individually by department in the student planning guide. Dual Enrollment course credits will appear on BOTH the high school and college transcripts. Please see the HMBHS student planning guide for current dual enrollment course offerings.
