Agriculture (CTE)
The Agriscience pathway helps students acquire a broad understanding of a variety of agricultural areas, develop an awareness of the many career opportunities in agriculture, participate in occupationally relevant experiences, and work cooperatively with a group to develop and expand leadership abilities. Students study California agriculture, agricultural business, agricultural technologies, natural resources, and animal, plant, and soil sciences. Students who are in the Agriscience pathway gain career-based skills through their Supervised Agricultural Experience projects as well as leadership skills through the FFA. The Career Technical Education (CTE) Agriscience Pathway includes the following courses: Agriculture Earth Science (Introductory level), Agri-Biology and Agri-Chemistry (Concentrator level), Advanced Agriscience Honors (Capstone/Honors level), and Agriculture Communications & Leadership (Elective).
All students at HMBHS must complete Agri-Biology or Biology, and Agriculture Earth Science, Agri-Chemistry, Earth Science, or Chemistry to graduate.
