Advisory Period
Advisory Period provides each student with an Advisory teacher -- students now have the same Advisory teacher for all four years -- to mentor them, intervene as needed, and support their learning and growth. Built into the "Even" day of the rotating block schedule, this dedicated period allows students additional time for support during the school day, with the goal of reducing stress, advancing homework and assessment completion, and setting students up for success. Two to three times a week for fifty-five minutes each, students have the option to:
- Study for upcoming exams.
- Attend rallies and assemblies.
- Engage in PLPs with counselors.
- Work on assignments, homework, and collaborative projects.
- Visit content area teachers for help or to make up tests and assignments.
- Attend career and college events (such as community college registration events or college fairs).
